Host a TEDxEvansville Viewing Party

As TEDxEvansville goes live on October 1st, 2016, a live video feed will be available for those who wish to simulcast and host in the form of a viewing party.

If you plan on watching the live stream on your own, or with friends, please feel free to do so without signing up. If you are a viewing party open to the public, we ask that you take a moment to read on and sign up!

TEDxEvansville welcomes everyone to organize and host a simulcast event, encouraging you to make the event your own. Please recognize there will be conditions applied to viewing parties.

To organize a party with TEDxEvansville, please take the first step of signing up. Once we have received the form, our Viewing Party Coordinator will follow up with the person responsible for the organization.

Technical Recommendations:

Before organizing an event, ensure you can answer yes to these questions:

Does the event’s venue have broadband internet connection? Broadband internet means download speed of >= 4Mbps, preferably >= 6Mbps.
Is the computer you plan on using connected to the internet with a regular network (Ethernet) cable? WiFi can be less reliable, especially if you allow the connection of smartphones.
Do you have a video projector/large screen available?
Do you have a sound system powerful enough for every attendee to hear audio clearly?

Conditions:

Your viewing party may host no more than 100 people at any given time.
A TEDxEvansville viewing party must be free of charge.
Branding should remain official and will be managed by TEDxEvansville. In regards to communication pertaining to the event, viewing parties should be promoted as TEDxEvansville at XXXX.
Your viewing party should be open to the public.
If you want to run your viewing party as an invite only, seek permission from TEDxEvansville first.
Viewing Party hosts will provide a full description of the planned party, including communication details and an address of the venue. This information will be used for publication on TEDxEvansville website where appropriate.

About TEDx, x = Independently Organized Event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self- organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
